A train ride from Melbourne and Bendigo: four inspiring houses to tour.

“Living in this home has required us to be a lot more conscious about our use of power and natural resources; it asks us to co-operate with our environment and understand it. Whilst our home is completely functional, it was also important to us to create something of beauty; a place that feels homely and comforting and good to be in. And we love being energy-independent.” Anne, house owner.

Speak with four householders and designers who have built sustainable houses. All four houses have solar passive design but with a variety of styles, building mediums and  low energy technologies. Hear from award winning designers Lifehouse about their 10 Star house design. Other displays include solar PV from the Goldfields Solar Hub, Comfy Homes low energy information, Mount Alexander Community Wind Farm and from Living Architecture Peter Cowman.

Cost:  $30 individual, $20 MASG member/concession, $50 couple. Covers house tours, printed notes and presentation on a ten star sustainable house.

To attend the  lifehouse presentation only:  $10

The event is also a fundraiser for MASG and any money raised will be used to take further action on climate change.
