Stopping waste….. Wash against Waste volunteers needed for 1 hour @ the State Festival Gardens day on Sunday the 10th
We are looking for people to help with the following times 9-11, 1-3, 3-5, 5-6 washing and drying dishes with the WAW trailer. The trailer will be out in force keeping plastic plates and other throw away items out of the landfill at the final event of the state festival in the Botanical Gardens on Sunday the 10th. Comfy Homes Tradies’ Mini-Expo
Deanna is organising an event that will bring local businesses and tradespeople together around the newer and more alternative methods of building, renovating and retrofitting your home. If you are looking for local products and services information, come and find it at the Tradies’ Mini-Expo. If you own a business or are a tradie with good knowledge and experience in alternative approaches, or would like to learn more about thermal assessments, solar PV and hot water, double-glazing, passive solar design, insulation options etc, this event is for you. Goldfields SolarHub reaches 400 registrations
Goldfields SolarHub is a joint initiative of the Bendigo Sustainability Group and the Mount Alexander Sustainability Group, which aims to have 1000 photovoltaic (PV) systems installed in the Bendigo and Mount Alexander region. As of Monday the 4th of April we had 400 registrations.
Participants of this program can purchase quality solar panels at a great price, get support from our team throughout the installation process and be part of our virtual solar power station!

Committee of management meeting or Coordinating group
The MASG Committee meetings with participation from working group members and staff is called the Coordinating Group (or CoG). The next CoG meeting is Thursday April 21st 7-9pm @ The Forge (opposite She Sells Seafood) and all members are welcome to attend. Come and contribute to the running of MASG and hear what working groups are doing.
Growing Abundance Long Table Breakfast
This Sunday 10th of April 11am-1pm @ the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens
$5 per head $15 per family (2 adults, 2 little people)

Free used cooking oil for Bio-fuel
If you run your car on bio-fuel or know someone who does, we have had a free offer of 12 litres of cooking oil from a MASG member. Please contact Graham on 0408 387 521 for details and to arrange pick-up.

Owner-build site visit
Local owner-builders, Anne and Hans van Gemert, invite members of MASG to a site-visit to their new home in 12 Yeats Street, Castlemaine which is nearing completion. Anne and Hans are happy to demonstrate the space, energy and water saving features in their new home and to discuss the difficulties of building to a budget.
