This is a special edition of news we needed to get to you this week.
The RET and the AGM: both acronyms, but both crucial issues for all of us.
Please send your contributions for the next e-news, our regular fortnightly edition, to e-news@masg.org.au by 11am on Wednesday, 31 October.
It’s MASG AGM time!
Our AGM is coming up at 7.30pm on Thursday, 22 November. It will be held in the Ray Bradfield Room in Castlemaine. If you are interested in nominating for any of the positions on the Committee of Management (COM), watch this space.
We will publish further information as it comes to hand.
In the meantime, if you are interested in seeing information on MASG’s budget, our fundraising strategy or financial statements, please call or email Caroline Neilsen on 5470 6325.
More information will be available on this website within the next few days.

We need your voice in the People’s Renewable Energy Target (RET) Review
Are you concerned about climate change? Do you want to see Australia transition from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy sources? It’s time to make your position known in the RET Review.
The polls have just opened so go to http://peoplesretreview.org.au/ and let us know what you think.
- Do you want to cut the amount of renewables we install in Australia?
- Do you want to see the renewables industry collapse after 2020?
- Think the Renewable Energy Target is too expensive and we should just give up on the whole thing?
No, neither do we.
This is what Origin and TRUenergy are saying to the review that’s investigating the government’s 20% by 2020 Renewable Energy Target (RET).
If the review doesn’t hear from the voices of those who want more renewable energy, there is a real risk development of wind and solar will be put back by decades.
Your voice is crucial – stop the dinosaurs hooking us up to fossil fuel for decades
The Climate Change Authority will advise the government on the future of the RET and they’re seeking people’s views. So we’ve set up an online People’s RET Review so you can have your say.
Go to http://peoplesretreview.org.au/ This is an urgent appeal for your support!
We will take your responses to the authority’s review and make sure that it is the voice of the people that determines our renewable energy future, not the voice of companies that made the mistake of placing their bets on coal and gas.
And when you’re finished, help us share the People’s RET Review with thousands of others and encourage all your friends to join in too!
Let’s get behind the RET. Let’s expand renewable energy, not kill it.
Last word …
I suppose leadership at one time meant muscles; but today it means getting along with people.
