Join, Renew, or Subscribe – MASG needs your help!

Posted on 7 June 2012 by e-news

Hi everybody,

It’s the time of year when we ask you to sign up for a year’s membership of MASG, and consider making a tax-deductible donation to help MASG continue its great work.  Please read on, as we also want to update you on MASG’s successes over the past year.

MASG’s achievements are only possible through your donations and subscriptions, and the massive amount of time and energy that MASG members and supporters contribute. Your assistance helps MASG deliver its vision at a time of political and funding challenges.  We are also invigorating our fundraising and social enterprises and we continue to have fun!

Our Work and Projects

Mount Alexander Community Wind (MACW) has a vision of creating a sustainable source of community-owned renewable energy.  MACW is now ready to start the social and technical feasibility studies needed to determine the most appropriate site for the wind energy generation facility.

Goldfields Solar Hub has helped hundreds of people to find out how to get solar PV on their own roofs and join the virtual power station made up from these PV systems.

Our Advocacy work has improved government policy on energy, through our work with the national 100% Renewable energy campaign, and advocated for the best aspects of Carbon Pricing, Big Solar and Wind Power to State and Federal Governments

Our e-news, website and facebook have communicated relevant, pithy info with our 1,000+ subscribers, though the E-news and web, and recently through facebook pages.
Our staff, volunteers and workshops have increased energy efficiency in the Shire, while helping people to reduce their energy bills and engaged our community on sustainability issues, through our Wash Against Waste trailer and through running events such as sustainable house and garden tours.

The Hub Garden Plot has increased local food production skills in our community through workshops at the Hub garden and worked closely with our sister organisation, Growing Abundance.

And we have built significant partnerships with Mount Alexander Shire Council and many other organisations.

We need your help to keep it up. You can help in many different ways:

  • You can renew your membership from as little as $15.
  • You can volunteer your time and expertise, on projects or specific tasks …. for a couple of hours (or more) a week.
  • You can make an additional single donation to MASG generally, or for a specific project such as Community Wind,
  • You can commit to giving a regular amount to MASG or to the Wind project.  Find out how here.

REMEMBER – MASG has been given Donor Gift Recipient (DGR) status by the Australian Tax Office, therefore cash donations over $2 are tax deductible.

As the financial year draws to a close please also consider a tax-deductible donation.
